Handed out progress report to give students an opportunity to get work in by the end of the week before the contact home next week.
Handed out the Chapter 2 Essay - due next Wednesday
Wrote Law 12 Chapter 1/2 Test.
Homework:
Complete the Chapter 2 Essay - due next Wednesday
Students who missed their test today due to cold weather can arrange a time to write with me when they return.

Today I gave students a copy of their Progress Reports which shows them which assignments they have completed and which are still not handed in. Students should work to get in materials by the end of the week as next week I will be sending copies of these home.

Discussed political ads - purpose, "dirty" ads.
Watched the following Canadian campaign ads and discussed:

Read p.318-319 and discussed.
Discussed issues with and alternatives to FTPT
Watched the following videos:

Assigned Mind Map Project - worked for half the class on this. We will work on this for an entire period next class and then it will be homework to complete. This project will count as a project mark, but you will also be able to use your Mind Map as a cheat sheet during the first unit test (not for a little while yet).
Homework:
Complete any of the previous work that you have not finished yet.
Continue working on your Mind Map.

Handed out and went over the Study Sheet for the Chapter 1/2 Test.
The Test will be on Tuesday.
Students were given a notecard that they can write on and use for the test. My recommendation is that they write an outline for the test essay.
Homework:
Complete any work from Chapter 1/2 that you are behind on.
Study for the Test on Tuesday - make your notecard for use on the test!
