Gave students Totalitarianism handout.  Read through the first two page and discussed.  Assigned 2-8 (Totalitarianism), 2-9 (Fascism), and 2-10 (Democracy).  Students do not have to complete 2-11 (Italian Fascism) or 2-12 (What is Fascism?).

Read "Athenian Democracy" and complete the Activities

Complete Learning Portfolio #3 (From Athens to Canada).  Students do not have to complete the Venn Diagram as the chart they created for one of the Activities above will replicate this.  They do need to write the paragraph as described in the Learning Portfolio handout.

Catch up on any incomplete assignments from Unit 2.  I will be giving out a new progress report next week.  I suggested to students that if they wish to have assignments reflected in their report before I send home an email they should get them to the hand-in bin on Monday, despite not having a class until Tuesday.

Today was a working period to begin on the Russia Timeline Project and prepare for the test on Monday.
Homework:
As above - Work on the Timeline Project - due next Wednesday, and study for the test on Monday using the Study Sheet as given in class.

Comparative Culture 12

In-class:
Watched a few of the Horrible Histories videos as previously posted on the homework site.
Wrote and discussed a diagnostic quiz for Greece and Rome (no marks)
Gave students the Portfolio handout for this next unit and overviewed it.
Watched the video below and discussed:
Homework:
Work on the Minoan handout package as given in class - this will be marked as a Portfolio assignment.  If you don't manage to completely finish it there will likely be a little more time after next class, but see if you are able.
