Good morning!

As you are likely aware by now, classes have been suspended at PCSS due to staffing issues.  This means that there will be no classes this week.  Thankfully we had classes yesterday and my deadline for material was yesterday which simplifies the situation for students in my classes.

Below I have posted instructions for each of my classes for this week.  Exams will be held at the scheduled times next week.  Students should bring all their textbooks to the exam to return.

If students have any questions they can feel free to contact me at tim.falkenberg@yesnet.yk.ca.  The school remains open during this time and if students feel they need additional supports they can contact me by email and we can arrange something during their regular class time.

Social Studies 10
Yesterday we read and discussed p.265-270 and I assigned p.267 1-2 and p.270 1-6.  Students should also read p.271-279 and complete p.273 1-3 and p.279 1-6.
Students should read through this material and complete these questions but they do not need to be handed in.  They are for review purposes only as this material will be covered on the Exam.  That is the last of the material we need to cover.
For the remainder of the week students should use the Study Guide that was given to them before Christmas Break to prepare for their exam.

History 12
Watch the following videos on South African Apartheid and read in your Student Workbook p.251-255.
Students were given extensive review materials prior to Christmas Break.  I am also providing a link to some old practice exams that students can use to review.  There are answer keys provided.  I would suggest selecting one of these exams and going through it with the answer key as a way to review and find areas that might need further reading and review.  These are completely optional and simply a way to give students further opportunity to go over previous material if they wish.

Students should not worry about handing in the assignment we did in class on Monday.  It will not count for marks but should be done to cover that material.

Law Studies 12
Students were assigned p.520 1-5 and p.525 1-5 in class yesterday.  These questions do not need to be handed in.  They will not be counted for marks and will not be represented on the Exam.  This week students should use the Exam Study Guide I provided them before Christmas break to study for their Exam next week.
